The South Point has many bars that serve anything you want in a glass, but they have one that serves things on plates. The Big Sur Oyster bar serves seafood: raw oysters, baked clams, fried calamari, clam chowder, etc... The food is spectacular! I've eaten seafood in many cities and many more expensive joints then this, and this meal rates among the best seafood dinners I've ever had. The calamari was light and crisp, the clam chowder was creamy and clammy and wonderful, and the raw oysters were perfectly fresh. The "pan fried" oysters are really deep-fried, but that's ok, they are delicious. They are a bar, and they have several beers on tap. If you ask for something they don't have, the staff will head to the nearby casino bar for you. The dress code is pretty much non existant, they take all customers. With South Point's new ownership, this place has really cleaned up it's act. The disorganization of the past is pretty much gone, there is someone to manage the hostess duties, and they added 4 tables off to one side to add more capacity. This was a delicious meal, and South Coast's location miles south
of The Strip, next to the 15 makes this an ideal stop when coming
in or going out of Sin City. I eat here constantly, no matter what
hotel I happen to be staying at. |
