This rollercoaster is the crown jewel of the Sahara’s Nascar themed area, and almost worth the trip to the deep north strip all by itself. It’s a short but very intense ride, about 20 seconds in total by my estimation. You start in the Sahara, get launched out the tunnel, take a turn, do a loop, and get shot straight up into the air over 230 feet. Then you do the whole thing backwards and end up back at the launch platform. They tell me there was an actual underground tunnel in there somewhere, but I had my eyes closed. Come to think of it, I did hear my own screams echoing briefly, so maybe we were underground after all. It costs $10 for one ride, or for $19 you get an all day pass to the coaster and the racing simulators nearby. Get the all day pass, ride twice, and spend the $1 you saved on something nice for your grandmother. They supply lockers for your loose goods, and forbid eyeglasses unless they have a strap holding them on. It’s not a bad idea to use the lockers, you don’t want your room key or your collection of naked women business cards getting scattered all over Vegas Blvd by the wind.
