I saw these two at The Rio years ago, and at the time I was not impressed. Since then I've known several people who saw them and also did not like the show. I'm a big fan of magic, and of Penn and Teller in general, so this was always dissapointing to me. I'm happy to say, it doesn't have to be this way! I saw them recently in their new theater at The Rio, and the show was GREATLY improved. I completely enjoyed myself. I don't know if they are this good every night, but at least there is hope. The new theater (and new is a relative term, their original theater is the one where the Chippendale's guys now shake their moneymakers) is terrific. The seats are big and roomy, the view is good. After the show both Penn and Teller do a meet-and-greet in the exit hall. You can take a photo with them, they'll sign things for you. You can even talk to Teller! This was a good show, I'm glad to see them in new digs, and if you are a fan of magic you should make your way down to the Rio. |
