This is a self-guided tour of a museum that shows really well-done replicas of the treasures of King Tut, as they were found in Egypt. The exhibit rooms are made up to look as if you're peering into the tomb itself. This is really cool, and worth every penny in my estimation. Yes, it's a museum, and yes, you are in Vegas and should be doing something much more lecherous, but take a half hour to let the booze settle, and enjoy. (Edited to add: The real treasures (or a sampling of them anyway) is on tour of the United States at this time (November, 2005), and I was there to see them. While the real tour gains a lot of cool points because they are showing you the actual artifacts instead of replicas, the presentation of this museum really holds it's own, and I'd have to say the Luxor museum was more fun. Kids might get more out of it as well. Seriously, if it's behind glass, can you really tell the real thing from a good replica?) |
