I left out most of the ratings because this is just a bar/lounge, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything else. The waitress is one of the cocktail waitresses from the casino floor (See notes at bottom of page), and the bartender doesn’t fling bottles through the air or dance bra-less on the tables. I have never seen a lounge act or band here, but I have it on good authority that there have been very bad acts here in the past, so I guess you should watch out for people holding their bleeding ears and running away. Personally I'd go when the stage was silent. This is one of my favorite lounges in Vegas. The seats and sofas are big and comfy, the service is good, the room is dimly lit, and the decor is all beautiful dark wood and carpet. There are some TV’s scattered about with the volume turned down, but for the most part it’s just a really sweet spot to rest your feet and have a tasty drink. This is just about the quietest lounge I’ve ever found in Vegas, and sometimes that’s really what you need. If you want better volume on the TV, or just need some free psychotherapy, you can also sit at the bar and spill your troubles on the bartender while watching the game. As an added bonus, the walls are decorated with old magic memorabilia; Harry Houdini show bills and the like are spotlighted throughout the lounge. If you’re a magic geek (I am) it makes the place a bit more interesting, but if your not it doesn’t get in the way of anything. NOTES: (edited 5/18/05: It seems I had the name of the lounge wrong. Hey,
even Dan Rather made mistakes!) |
