What is there to say, really? George Carlin is one of the funniest guys touring right now. He's bitter, he's angry, he's cynical, and he shows up in Vegas for a few weeks every year. If you've ever only seen him on TV, his live shows are interestingly scripted. His show has a mixture of new routines and old (he rotates jokes in throughout the year), and he sometimes ends it with brand new material that he's still testing, reading it verbatim from index cards like some morbid touring author. Carlin is a WhatBrianThinks double-extra-plus-must-see. If he's in town, and you haven't blown all of your money on booze and loose women, then get your ass down to his show. UPDATE 12/8/04: George Carlin has ended his time at the MGM Grand. Reports are that he is going to start performing at The Stardust. Reportedly he ended his last MGM show with an expletive-laiden tirade against the stupidity of Vegas tourists who "travel hundreds and thousands of miles to give their money to huge corporations." Needless to say many are upset at this. All I have to say in response is this: If we think it's funny when he makes fun of other people, we have to accept that he may one day make fun of us. He's not famous for being kind and gentle.
