First, a disclaimer: I'm a born and bred city boy. Many of you may frequent bars in your home town that have these bulls, but they are a little hard to come by in New York and Los Angeles. In Gilleys, in the New Frontier is a mechanical bull. Before your ribs arrive (don't want to blow chunks in front of all the pretty bikini girls) talk to the big cowboy-hat guy running the bull, and tell him you'd like to take a ride. If you are a guest at the hotel you'll get a free ride coupon when you check in. Yes, I did this. Yes, there is video. No, you can't see it. Suffice it to say, this is a LOT harder then it looks. You have to keep in mind you are trying to stay on a hydraulic catapult. This machine is capable of generating a LOT more force then you can withstand, so you really are only going to stay on as long as the guy driving lets you stay on. With that said, if you have decent strength in one arm, and a good grip, you should be able to hang on long enough to impress your girlfriend. This is a heck of a lot of fun, even if I did get tossed when the machine hit about 30% power. Afterwards my arm was so tired I had to do my drinking with my other hand for the rest of the day. However, as long as I don't look at the video, I can imagine I was a god among men that day. |
