Bellagio advertises two features of their lobby. I'll describe each one in turn. 1: Fiori di Como This is a massive blown-glass sculpture of giant colorful glass flowers, created by Dale Chihuly, the famed glass artist. It cost over $1 million. Those are the only positive things to say about it. It's ugly. It sticks out of the ceiling like a fungal infection, is vastly too colorful for the surroundings, and just looks bizzarre and weird. It's an utterly pointless exhibition of expense. I would have prefered they stick the $1 million in a box like Vegas World did way back in the day so we could take a picture next to it.. 2: The Conservatory This is an indoor botanical display in the lobby of the hotel. While I don't find it as impressive as the indoor garden at The Mirage (which has things that actually grew inside a casino), the displays can be very impressive. Think of it kind of like the Rose Bowl Parade, only you walk through it instead of the other way around. I wouldn't travel all the way to the Bellagio to see this, but if you're here anyway... |
